PORT COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – Firefighters in Port Coquitlam spent Thanksgiving morning battling a three-alarm fire at a downtown strip mall.
Crews arrived to Shaughnessy Street and McAllister Avenue just after 4 a.m.

Mayor Greg Moore says investigators believe the blaze may have started in a cafe.
“It looks like it started in the kitchen there, and went right up through the roof tiles and then spread through the other businesses along that same block,” he says.

Moore adds that he understands why people may want to check out the scene, but he’s asking them to give emergency responders some space.
